“As a Marine and the father of a Marine I know firsthand the sacrifices our military and their loved ones make. We owe it to each other to ensure every veteran who leaves active duty is supported as they transfer to civilian life—often times, still carrying the weight of their service, both in physical and mental pain.” said Senator Uresti.

Senator Uresti will again hold his annual Veteran’s Day Reception on November 11th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at his San Antonio District Office at 3315 Sidney Brooks Dr. in San Antonio. More information is available at (210) 932-2568.

“On top of fellowship with other veterans, this is an opportunity for me to hear from you on what the legislature can do to better serve our veterans and their families. Your input is valuable to me and I am looking forward to receiving ideas.” said Uresti.

Sen. Uresti represents Senate District 19, which covers more than 35,000 square miles and contains all or part of 17 counties, two international ports of entry, eleven state parks, 51 school districts, 2700 miles of highways, and more than 23,000 producing oil and gas wells in both the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin. The district is larger than 12 states and 82 Nations, and contains over one third of the Texas-Mexico border. Sen. Uresti is proud to serve on the Finance, Natural Resources & Economic Development, Health & Human Services, and Administration Committees. Senator Uresti is the first Senator from San Antonio to serve on the Legislative Budget Board.
