The holidays are in full force and the spirit of giving is in the air across Senate District 19. Many of you have already contributed to our Food Bank or other charitable organization in advance of Thanksgiving. As we enter December, and as you consider your year-end-giving, we have the opportunity together to help make the holidays brighter for everyone in our communities.
On Friday, December 8th, I will have the pleasure of hosting the 21st Annual Uresti Family Christmas Dinner and Toy Drive with Representative Tomas Uresti and Bexar County Tax Assessor Collector Albert Uresti. We invite you all to join us for dinner, music and door prizes as we collect toys to distribute to children across South and West Texas. I hear Santa Claus will even be making an appearance for the children (and grown children)!
This event will be held from 6:00 to 11:00pm at VFW Post 9186 in San Antonio. We ask that attendees donate an unwrapped toy for children 0-8 years old. The evening is always enjoyable and, thanks to your generosity, hundreds of deserving children will receive a toy delivered by "Senator Santa" this year. More information can be found on my website by clicking here. I hope to see you there!
Across Senate District 19, many charities and organizations need your support this time of year. There are many worthy causes that could use a contribution, including the San Antonio Food Bank, San Antonio Pets Alive, and the United Way. Each of these groups provide essential services to help make our communities stronger.
Additionally, I'd like to ask you to consider helping to advocate and fight for children with an end-of-year charitable donation. There are far too many children going without the support they deserve and need. You can make an impact on children's lives by supporting organizations such as ChildSafe, Voices for Children, or your local CASA organization.
I wish you and your family happy holidays, a Merry Christmas, and a safe and prosperous New Year.
