The National Association of Town Watch over the course of the year will be sponsoring National Night Outs (NNO) across the country. NNO is an event that brings awareness to neighborhoods about crime and drug prevention programs and seeks to unite the neighborhood through spirit, creating a long lasting partnership with the community police. There will be free food, drinks, games and student performances throughout the night. This event will provide our community with an opportunity to enjoy a fun night out while showing that we are a community capable and ready to fight crime one step at a time.
A longstanding NNO, which I have attended for many years, takes place in the Harlandale ISD area. I invite you to join us at the 33rd Annual NNO on Tuesday, October 4th. The event begins at 6 pm at the Harlandale Memorial Stadium, located at 4002 Roosevelt Ave., San Antonio, TX 78214.
Along with my office, other community leaders, local businesses and community organizations will be in attendance to provide information on their programs and services.
Whether or not you can attend the NNO, I hope you will use this night to get to know a few of your neighbors and talk about some of your neighborhood concerns. Last but not least, don't forget to turn on your porch light in support of NNO, which is a long standing tradition! Hope to see everyone out there!
